NATURALLY THERAPEUTIC SERVICES
Together, we’ll uncover the difficulties, clarify what is important to you, and determine how to begin to move towards the life you want to live.
Individual Therapy
Work one-on-one with one of our experienced psychologists. Using evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and mindfulness, we are confident that we can support you in your journey.
Research suggests weekly or biweekly sessions, particularly to start. Time in therapy varies depending on the complexity of concerns as well as your level of participation in the process.
We see clients in person at the Thrive Business Centre in SE Calgary (Douglasglen) as well as on secured video platforms.
Typically, sessions are 50-60 minutes long and are charged at $200 per session.
Family Therapy
Whether you are a young person still living at home, a parent, a person offering or receiving care for a medical diagnosis, or a spouse; most often concerns occur as a part of the larger family structure.
We facilitate these larger meetings with a collaborative approach, ensuring everyone's concerns are heard and understood so that the family can move forward together with a united vision. We then work on the skills required to do so.
Family sessions are billed at the same rate as individual sessions; however, often are scheduled for 90-120 minutes, depending on the needs of the family..
Group Therapy
At Naturally Therapeutic, we believe in the power of group therapy. Nothing beats the sense of belonging and understanding experienced by sharing with others going through similar circumstances.
Although we are not currently offering any groups, we have a couple of groups in the works, including a body image group and sharing/healing circle group.
Contact us to express interest in either of these groups so that we can keep you informed.
Group therapy is a less expensive endeavor since you are sharing time with others. The cost is $60-$100 depending on the length of the group sessions.
Frequently Asked QUESTIONS

Not to worry, there will be no physical climbing in our sessions! Climbing is a great metaphor for life and therapy. It involves setting goals, overcoming obstacles, perseverance, and continuous growth. Just as in life, climbing requires planning, determination, adaptability to changes, and the willingness to take risks. Therapy is like this too. The journey may be challenging, with ups and downs, but working through the challenges brings a sense of achievement and fulfillment. AND... Jenn happens to love climbing!

Several factors contribute to the cost of private therapy. One factor is the extensive education and training required for therapists, which involves years of graduate study and clinical supervision. Additionally, therapists invest in ongoing professional development and licensing requirements. Maintaining a therapy practice incurs overhead costs such as rent for office space, liability insurance, administrative expenses, and marketing efforts. Therapists offer personalized, one-on-one care, including planning ahead and behind-the-scenes preparation for sessions. That said, the cost of therapy is a barrier for many people. At Naturally Therapeutic our therapists offer a limited number of clients to access a sliding scale fee and even then, therapy can be out of reach financially. Please check out our resources page for alternative, low or free-cost therapy options available to you.

Research shows that regular attendance has better therapeutic outcomes. Weekly or biweekly sessions to begin can help to build rapport and generate momentum on your journey. As things progress, working towards spacing sessions further apart can be beneficial to work towards transitioning out of therapy. That said, it is ultimately up to you.

This is a loaded question with a different answer for each person. Many factors contribute to the length of care including but not limited to the effort you put into and between sessions, the frequency of your sessions, and the extent of the goals and concerns you bring. Therapy is a voluntary activity meaning you decide when to begin and end, and is beneficial to discuss with your therapist throughout your time in therapy.

Yes, virtual therapy, also known as teletherapy or online therapy, can be effective. Research has shown that virtual therapy can produce outcomes comparable to in-person therapy for many mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD. It offers convenience, accessibility, and flexibility, allowing individuals to receive therapy from the comfort of their own homes and to access therapists who may not be geographically nearby. Of course, the effectiveness of virtual therapy can vary depending on individual preferences and needs.
