So you have cancer…

Those were the words I heard myself back in 2013. I was shocked. It couldn't be true. I mean, I knew I had a lump in my breast. I attended several diagnostic appointments leading up to this moment. But I still didn't believe it when my doctor so casually uttered those words.

How could this happen to me? What will I do? Will I survive?

Those were just a few of my questions.

Of course, I began by doing what my doctor, soon to be doctors, told me to do. I had appointments. So many appointments. Surgery. Results - no clear margins. Surgery. Results.

Stage 3B breast cancer. Wow. Ok, I guess it IS real.

I took a break from life as I knew it. Leave of absence from my full-time job and full-time grad school (no wonder I got sick).

And I began to focus on me. This is when the real work began. This is when I began to learn who and what was most important to me.

My health. My family. My friends.

Parts of it were extremely hard, and parts of it were magical, beautiful, and truly aligned with me.

I have since made it my mission to help others (like you) through this incredible journey. I am always amazed by the tremendous courage it takes for people to reach out for help, and would feel especially honoured should you choose to share your journey with me.
